More attractive job offers, low salaries and unsatisfactory
work are the three most common reasons for dismissal by PR professionals. Too
much overtime is reason for dismissal for only a few.
This is the result of the news trend PR trend monitor. The
dpa subsidiary together with Facts asked PR specialists and
managers what are the three most likely reasons for termination. Over 500 PR
professionals took part in the survey.
According to this, just under a third of the PR
professionals surveyed would quit their current job if there were a better job
offer from another employer (31 percent). One in four states that they quit due
to insufficient wages and boring jobs (25 percent each). Even a bad boss is
reason to leave: one in five would quit due to lack of managerial skills (22
percent), every sixth in turn due to poor career prospects (17 percent).
Overtime and stress, on the other hand, lead to less
termination. Only eight percent of those surveyed stated that they would pull
the ripcord due to too much pressure; only a meager five percent cite overtime
as the most likely reason for termination.
