Choosing the right computer for your business

Choosing the right computer to do your job influences whether you will be successful, tools are the key.

Portable or desktop?

You must prevent how your employees will behave and what needs they will have. If they must be connected to the internet and move from one place to another, the right thing to do would be to buy a laptop. If you need to be connected with your employees at all times, we recommend using a Docking Station, with which you can easily use remote computers.

Disadvantages of acquiring a laptop: They are more expensive and tend to be more outdated than desktop ones. If any of your employees have a more static role, you have to acquire a desktop one.

Operating system, Mac or PC?

If you don't know the answer to this question beforehand, you should surely choose Windows. It is the standard in companies. However, if your company is a design company, you should purchase a MAC that is better for this type of task.

Understand the lingo

CPU: It is the brain of the computer and has a direct effect on its speed. CPU speed is measured by GHz (Gigahertz). Generally, a CPU with more than 2.5 GHz should be sufficient. However, the best on the market are the i3, i5 and i7.

RAM: is the place where the computer stores information while tasks are running. Generally, the more RAM, the better the computer's performance. RAM is measured in GB (Gigabytes). It is recommended to use computers with a RAM greater than 2 GB.

Hard Drive and Storage: The hard drive is where your computer stores photos, videos, articles, music, and many other types of files. It is also measured in GB, and it is recommended to buy one of more than 250 G.

32 Bits or 64 Bits: hardware and software have 2 versions. If you want the performance of your computer to be better, we recommend using the 64 Bit version.

The brand

If you have chosen MAC as your operating system, you can skip to the next point. With the Windows operating system then you have many brands available to choose from. For this we do not have the magic recipe, however it is always good to review the comments and reputation of each brand or product according to your needs.

If you are going to create your company, also think about acquiring a printer. To choose the printer take into account if it is a matrix of blows or if it is laser, the guarantee, the costs of the ink and the paper. There are many printers specializing in a certain type of printing, you don't want to pay for an expensive printer specializing in High Definition printing if you are only going to photocopy documents.
